Olivia Rodrigo has taken the top of the US albums chart back. Her album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a third non-consecutive week, earning 75,000 equivalent album units in the tracking week ending 22 October, up 15% on the previous week.

What drove the jump

Streaming did the heavy lifting. Streaming units rose 19% to 63,000, which equals about 67.14 million on-demand streams, enough to put the album at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Streaming Albums chart for a fifth week. The trigger was the 15 October release of a new version of Expectations featuring Chappell Roan, a pairing fans had wanted for a long time.

The rest of the top five

  1. Olivia Rodrigo, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love: 75,000 units
  2. Zach Bryan: new entry at No. 2
  3. Morgan Wallen: another week above 50,000 units
  4. Ella Langley, Dandelion: 49,000 units, now past 2.25 million in total
  5. Taylor Swift, The Life of a Showgirl: 42,000 units, after 15 weeks at No. 1

Taylor finally steps aside

Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl had spent 15 weeks at No. 1, making her the first artist with two different albums to log at least 15 weeks at the top. Its fall to No. 5 opens the field heading into a busy release season. Swift still leads the Hot 100 with Patient Zero, as we reported here: https://mediamarvels.in/news/billboard-hot-100-october-24-2026-taylor-swift-patient-zero-third-week.
