Ramayana's new song Main Ram: Sachet Tandon sings Kumar Vishwas's lines on a Prateek Walia composition

Main Ram, the latest song from Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, is out on T-Series. It pairs Sachet Tandon's voice with music by Prateek Walia and lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas, two weeks before the film opens on 5 November.

With less than two weeks to go before Ramayana: Part One reaches cinemas, the makers have released another song from the film. Main Ram, out on T-Series this week, is a very different track from the devotional Jai Jai Ram that launched the soundtrack in September.

The song at a glance

  1. Singer: Sachet Tandon
  2. Music: Prateek Walia
  3. Lyrics: Dr Kumar Vishwas
  4. Label: T-Series
  5. Film: Namit Malhotra's Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari

A Ram who speaks for himself

Where Jai Jai Ram was written as a prayer sung about Ram, Main Ram is written in his own voice. The lyrics have Ram calling on the earth, water, fire, sky and wind to hear him, listing everything he has given up, and declaring that his patience has run out. The repeated hook names him as Dashrath's son and Siya's Ram, giving the song the feel of a battle cry rather than an aarti.

The choice of Sachet Tandon fits that mood. Best known for Bekhayali from Kabir Singh and his work as one half of the composing duo Sachet-Parampara, he brings the same high-intensity delivery here.

How the soundtrack is building

A. R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer are scoring the film, which marks Zimmer's first Indian project. Rahman composed Jai Jai Ram, sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and released on Ganesh Chaturthi. Prateek Walia's Main Ram is the first major song from outside that core team, and Kumar Vishwas has written the lyrics across the album.

Ramayana: Part One opens worldwide on Thursday, 5 November 2026, including in IMAX 3D, with Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Read about its streaming plan at https://mediamarvels.in/news/ramayana-part-one-jiohotstar-pay-per-view-release.
