The Flaming Lips announce The Teardrop Throbs and share new single
The band’s Third Man Records debut arrives in January, with a new single available now and two-night shows announced in the US and London.
IllustrationThe Flaming Lips will release The Teardrop Throbs on 22 January 2027, marking their album debut for Third Man Records. The announcement is accompanied by “God Will Control The Werewolves,” available through the label’s official listening links.
A record shaped by family and imagination
The 13-track project was produced by the band with Taylor Johnson, Dave Fridmann and Scott Booker, with additional production from Jon and Mike Fridmann. In notes accompanying the announcement, Wayne Coyne connects the material with fatherhood and the way everyday experiences turn into imagined stories.

Small-room shows accompany the launch
