Prabhas' Fauzi glimpse File No. 25 teases a Subhas Chandra Bose mystery as the film moves to 19 March 2027
Released on Prabhas' birthday, the File No. 25 glimpse from Hanu Raghavapudi's Fauzi frames the star as a mysterious rebel soldier in the World War II era. The film now opens worldwide on 19 March 2027 instead of December.
IllustrationPrabhas' birthday on 23 October brought fans two big pieces of news from Fauzi: a first proper look at the story, and a new release date. The war drama from Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi will now open worldwide on Friday, 19 March 2027, moving from its earlier December 2026 plan.
What the glimpse shows
Titled File No. 25, the video is presented like a classified military dossier rather than a regular action teaser. It opens with a reference to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's 1942 meeting with Adolf Hitler in Berlin, placing the story in the turbulent World War II years of India's freedom struggle. Prabhas appears as a mysterious rebel soldier, with a gold coin bearing his profile in a vintage uniform and lines tagging him as most wanted since 1932 and part of a battalion that fights alone.
The glimpse does not say whether his character is a real historical figure or a fictional soldier operating in that world, which has set off plenty of fan theories.
The film at a glance
- Director: Hanu Raghavapudi
- Producers: Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar for Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series associated
- Cast: Prabhas, debutant Imanvi, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada, Anupam Kher and Sajjad Delafrooz
- Music: Vishal Chandrasekhar
- Languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali
- New release date: 19 March 2027
Why the date moved
Key portions, including the climax, were planned for the final schedule this year, and a period film built on military settings and large-scale action needs extra time in post-production. The new date also gives the makers room for a full multilingual promotional campaign.
A packed slate
Fauzi joins a busy line-up for Prabhas that includes Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit, now set for Diwali 2027, and sequels to Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar. Vishal Chandrasekhar's Sita Ramam songs were huge, so expect the Fauzi album to be one of 2027's most-watched soundtracks.
