Darshan Raval releases The Everafter EP and heartbreak single Sirf Tum, continuing the Naal Naal Ve love story
Darshan Raval's four-song birthday EP The Everafter is out on Warner Music India, led by Sirf Tum, a heartbreak song whose video picks up the story of Dan and Niyati from Naal Naal Ve.
IllustrationDarshan Raval has kept his birthday tradition alive. The singer-songwriter, who turned 32 on 18 October, has released a new EP, The Everafter, through Warner Music India, along with a music video for its emotional centrepiece, Sirf Tum.
The four songs
- Naal Naal Ve: the joy of finding love
- Sirf Tum: the heartbreak song, and the EP's focus track
- Jaadu: a gift for his fanbase, the Blue Family
- Karwaan: a song about life's journey
Together, the set moves through love, loss, hope and moving on.
The Sirf Tum video
The video continues the story started in Naal Naal Ve. Darshan plays Dan, a struggling musician who once stepped through a mysterious blue door into a parallel world and found love with Niyati, played by Barkha Singh. Now he wakes up to find she has vanished and everyone insists she never existed. He pours that loss into his music in the hope of finding his way back to her, with his loyal dog Brutus by his side again.
What Darshan says
Darshan has said Sirf Tum is especially close to his heart because his wife, who normally avoids sad songs, loves this one. He describes the EP as a way to show different sides of romance, with Sirf Tum carrying the honest, vulnerable side his listeners connect with, and Karwaan written for long drives through the mountains.
On tour next
The EP ties into his Love Letters tour, and he has said he cannot wait to perform the new songs live. It is a busy month for him: his voice is also on Jaane Kis Mod Pe from the new Hindi film Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar.
