Badshah and KR$NA headline MLBx Mumbai tonight as Major League Baseball meets Indian hip-hop

Baseball is borrowing a page from cricket's playbook in Mumbai tonight: big hits, celebrity players and a hip-hop soundtrack. Major League Baseball's first MLBx event in India takes place on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at Mumbai Football Arena in the Andheri Sports Complex, and two of Indian rap's biggest names are on the bill.

Who is performing

1. Badshah is curating a special set built around his biggest hits, with MLB India promising a few surprise twists inspired by Americana. Expect crowd favourites like DJ Waley Babu, Genda Phool and Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai.
2. KR$NA brings his sharper, lyric-heavy side of desi hip-hop, with tracks such as Machayenge 4, No Cap and I Guess likely in the set.
3. Mumbai DJ OG Shez opens the music with a genre-blending set.

What MLBx actually is

MLBx is a fast, mixed 3-on-3 version of baseball built around power hitting and quick defence. It has been played at 15 venues in the US and in London, Seoul and Mexico City, and this is its first stop in India.

On the field, India's T20 World Cup-winning captain and MLB ambassador Suryakumar Yadav teams up with former MLB All-Star Nick Swisher, alongside Adrián González, cricketers Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma and Kashvee Gautam, and softball stars Rachel Garcia and Jordan Woolery. Teams represent the Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox and Cubs.

Why it matters for Indian music

Sports leagues entering India increasingly lean on homegrown music to win over crowds. After the NBA's events, MLB has chosen two rappers with very different fanbases, Badshah's mainstream pop-rap and KR$NA's hardcore hip-hop audience, to make baseball feel local. For Indian artists, these crossover stages are becoming a new and well-paid part of the live circuit.
