Ayushmann Khurrana's spy comedy Udta Teer arrived in cinemas on Friday, 23 October 2026, opposite Sara Ali Khan. Directed and written by Akash A Kaushik, it is produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. Ayushmann plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and starts supporting India, a premise the film plays almost entirely for laughs. What the first reviews say Bollywood Hungama gave the film 3 out of 5, calling it an amusing spy comedy that works because of its quirky premise, funny moments and performances. The review singled out Rahul Bose and Mukul Dev, along with Ayushmann's turn as the confused spy. Its main complaints were a second half that loses pace under too many twists, and a thinly written role for Sara Ali Khan. Advance booking and first-day estimate According to Koimoi, Udta Teer sold about 41,750 tickets in advance across roughly 6,678 shows before its first screening, for an advance gross of about Rs 1.12 crore. The film is opening alongside more than half a dozen other Hindi releases, which cut its show count. The trade site expects a first-day net of Rs 3.5 to 4.5 crore, with the film relying on word of mouth and walk-in audiences. At the top of that range it would rank among Ayushmann's three biggest openings since the pandemic, behind Thamma and Dream Girl 2. The music Sachin-Jigar compose the songs. Chann, sung by Arijit Singh with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, is the film's big romantic number, while the title track has been called the catchiest song in the album. The review also praised Ketan Sodha's quirky background score and the film's comic use of old Hindi songs. We will update the box office figures once first-day numbers are in.
