Polyphia release Be Not Afraid, their fifth album and darkest record yet, after four years away
Instrumental guitar band Polyphia have released Be Not Afraid on Rise Records, their first album since 2022. The band calls it their most meaningful work, built around a clash of uplifting and terrifying moods.
IllustrationPolyphia have spent four years going down what they call some pretty dark rabbit holes. The result, their fifth album Be Not Afraid, was released on Friday, 23 October 2026, through Rise Records.

What it sounds like
The Texas band made their name blending virtuosic guitar with hip-hop and electronic production, and their last album, Remember That You Will Die (2022), reached No. 33 on the Billboard 200. This time they have pushed heavier. Can You Feel It mixed eight-string guitar riffs with rave energy, while Power In The Blood pairs breakneck playing with big hip-hop beats.
Henson has said the album swings between two extremes, one triumphant and uplifting, the other genuinely frightening, and admits some moments still scare him when he listens back. He describes it as the band going deep instead of wide, with layers that reveal something new on every listen. LePage adds that the band simply cannot make the same record twice.
The videos
Director Caleb Young filmed Power In The Blood inside the gold-leaf Baroque interior of the São Francisco da Penitência Church in Rio de Janeiro, a striking contrast to the music's aggression. The With Eyes To See video goes darker still, mixing dreamlike visuals with images of real-world destruction.
On the road
The band's European tour opens in Zurich on 18 November, with a London date at O2 Academy Brixton on 16 December. North American shows have moved to early 2027, and existing tickets remain valid.
