What is Udta Teer about?
Ayushmann plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory. He keeps his patriotism but forgets which country he belongs to, and ends up passionately supporting India. Ayushmann has called it a pro-India patriotic comedy that the whole family can enjoy.
It is the kind of high-concept, socially playful story he is known for, from Vicky Donor and Badhaai Ho to Dream Girl.
Why the release date moved
Udta Teer was first set for 9 October. The makers moved it to 23 October to get what they called a cleaner release window, away from a crowded market. In early October, Drishyam 3 was dominating screens, and Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 arrived on 15 October. What Udta Teer is up against
The same Friday brings smaller Hindi releases such as Tu Hai Meri Kiran, Tum Mere Ho and Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar, while big streaming premieres like Gajab Raat and Chaar Yaar also land on 23 October. See this week's OTT list at https://mediamarvels.in/blog/new-ott-releases-this-week-october-19-25-2026.
After that, the calendar opens up until Ramayana: Part 1 on 5 November, which gives Udta Teer about two weeks to build word of mouth.
Ayushmann Khurrana: actor and singer
Ayushmann is one of the few Bollywood stars who also sings. His songs Pani Da Rang (Vicky Donor), Saddi Gali, Mitti Di Khushboo and Nazm Nazm show his musical side. Fans will be watching to see whether he lends his voice to the Udta Teer album too.
Ayushmann's next film
Ayushmann is also set to star in Mupapa, scheduled for 19 February 2027. See every 2027 release at https://mediamarvels.in/blog/upcoming-bollywood-movies-2027-release-dates.
