Just eight days before showtime, Diljit Dosanjh's biggest Delhi night of the year has hit a wall. The Delhi Police have declined permission for the Aura India Tour concert planned at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday, 30 October 2026.
Here is everything we know so far.
The Delhi show at a glance
Event: Diljit Dosanjh Aura India Tour, Delhi
Planned date: Friday, 30 October 2026
Venue: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi
Ticketing partner: BookMyShow
Status: Police permission declined; no official cancellation or new date announced yet
Why permission was denied
According to reports published on 22 October, the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) replied to an application dated 14 October with a letter addressed to BookMyShow. The letter reportedly cited specific threat-related inputs, along with the heavy security and law-and-order commitments the police are handling during the festive season, and said the request could not be granted.
The timing matters. Late October and early November are among the busiest weeks of the year for Delhi Police, with Diwali, Chhath Puja and large public gatherings across the city.
What happens next?
At the time of writing, neither Diljit's team nor the promoters have confirmed whether the Delhi show will be cancelled, moved to a new date or venue, or taken up again with the authorities. Large concerts in India have been rescheduled after permission issues before, so fans should not assume the worst until an official statement arrives.
If you hold a ticket
1. Do not sell or transfer your ticket on unofficial resale channels while the situation is unclear.
2. Watch your registered email and the BookMyShow app for official updates on refunds or a new date.
3. Follow Diljit Dosanjh's official social media accounts, where tour changes are usually announced first.
The rest of the Aura India Tour
The other stops are still listed as planned:
1. Indore, 15 November 2026
2. Ahmedabad, 21 November 2026, at Narendra Modi Stadium, the world's largest cricket stadium
3. Mumbai, 27 November 2026
4. Bengaluru, 29 November 2026
5. Lucknow, 5 December 2026
6. Chandigarh, date to be announced
The Ahmedabad night is being talked about as one of the biggest single concerts ever staged by an Indian artist, at a venue that can hold about 1.3 lakh people.
How much are tickets?
Reports say Aura tour tickets start at Rs 999, with the top individual ticket capped at around Rs 18,000. In Mumbai, VIP lounge tickets are priced at Rs 17,999. Final prices vary with category, availability and booking fees.
India's concert boom, and its growing pains
The Delhi setback comes in a record season for live music in India. Arijit Singh has announced a nine-city stadium tour for 2027, and Rolling Loud India returns in December with international headliners. But bigger shows also mean bigger questions about crowd safety, traffic and policing. Stadium concerts need clearances from several agencies, and late permission problems are becoming a familiar story for promoters.
