Nayyi Navelli leads Prahaar in the first weekend box office race
Yami Gautam's horror comedy holds an early lead over Rajkummar Rao's courtroom drama in reported India net collections.
IllustrationTwo new Hindi releases have finished their opening weekend with Nayyi Navelli in front. The Indian Express reports India net collections of ₹11.65 crore for Yami Gautam's horror comedy, compared with ₹9.15 crore for Rajkummar Rao's Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam.
Both films improved on Sunday, according to the same report. Balaji Mohan directs Nayyi Navelli, while Avinash Arun's Prahaar follows a courtroom-drama route, giving audiences two different theatrical choices.
The early comparison is useful because it puts equivalent India net figures side by side. Weekday collections will help show how much momentum each release retains. Opening-weekend estimates alone are too early to determine either film's lifetime earnings.
