About Maatrubhumi
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salman Khan Films, Maatrubhumi is a dramatised retelling of the 2020 India-China clashes along the Line of Actual Control, including the Galwan Valley clash. It is loosely based on a chapter of Shiv Aroor's book India's Most Fearless, and was first announced as Battle of Galwan. Salman plays a character inspired by Colonel B. Santosh Babu of the 16 Bihar Regiment.
The soundtrack
Jai Hind joins a soundtrack that has been building all year. Earlier songs include the title track Maatrubhumi, Main Hoon, Chand Dekh Lena and Mera Jee Nahi Bhara. The songs are composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Ayaan Lall, Shamir Tandon and Kumar Gaurav Singh.
Release date still open
The film was first set for 17 April 2026 but was pushed back after a reshoot. A new release date has not been officially announced.
For Stebin Ben, best known for romantic hits, Jai Hind is a change of pace: a big, patriotic anthem built for stadium-sized emotion.
