Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi concert is back on: police approve 30 October Aura Tour show at JLN Stadium
A day after denying permission, Delhi Police approved Diljit Dosanjh's Aura India Tour concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 30 October, after organisers presented a detailed security plan. Existing tickets stay valid.
IllustrationDiljit Dosanjh fans in Delhi can breathe again. The Delhi Police have approved the Aura India Tour concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday, 30 October 2026, a day after permission had been refused.
What changed
1. On Thursday, 22 October, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) told ticketing partner BookMyShow that the request to hold the show could not be approved at that time, citing threat-related inputs and heavy festive-season security commitments. We covered that setback here: https://mediamarvels.in/blog/diljit-dosanjh-delhi-concert-aura-tour-police-permission.
2. The organisers then met Delhi Police and presented a detailed plan covering security and traffic arrangements. They described the meeting as cordial and constructive.
3. On Friday, 23 October, the police granted permission for the show to go ahead as scheduled.
The organisers also clarified that reports suggesting the Delhi concert was being cancelled were inaccurate, and Diljit has confirmed he will perform in the capital.

If you hold a ticket
1. Your ticket remains valid. When the show was moved from 1 November to 30 October earlier this month, BookMyShow confirmed that all existing tickets would carry over.
2. Buy or transfer only through official channels. Fake tickets for Diljit's Delhi shows have been a problem in past tours.
3. Expect traffic restrictions around Lodhi Road and BP Marg on show day, and plan to use public transport. Watch Delhi Traffic Police for the official advisory.
The rest of the Aura India Tour
Delhi now opens the India leg. The tour then moves to Indore (15 November), Ahmedabad (21 November, Narendra Modi Stadium), Mumbai (27 November), Bengaluru (29 November) and Lucknow (5 December), before closing in Chandigarh on a date still to be announced.
Why this matters
The U-turn shows how large concerts in India now depend on detailed security and crowd planning, not just a venue booking. With Arijit Singh's stadium tour and Rolling Loud India also coming up, promoters are likely to bring these plans to the police much earlier.
