After the thunder of Ravana Thandavam comes the tenderness. Mangal Rang, the new song from Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part 1, was released on Sunday, 25 October 2026, and it puts the love between Rama and Sita at the centre of A.R. Rahman's score.

What the song shows
The video follows Rama and Sita from their wedding through their life together, including glimpses of their years in exile beyond Ayodhya. It is the film's third song, after the Dussehra release of Ravana Thandavam, which spotlighted Yash as Ravana.
The track was first presented at a launch event in Chennai on 22 October, before its full release across languages.
What Rahman, Arijit and Shreya said
Rahman said he wanted the melody to capture the love and devotion between Rama and Sita, and hoped listeners would find something personal in it. Arijit described the Ramayana as a reflection of life and inner consciousness, and said the melody took him beyond words. Shreya said singing it let her connect with the bond between Rama and Sita.
Why Mangal Rang matters
- A rare Arijit-Shreya duet on a film of this scale. Since January 2026, Arijit has stopped taking new playback work, so songs he recorded earlier, like this one, carry extra weight for fans.
- A five-language launch, signalling how seriously the makers are chasing a truly pan-India audience.
- A clear contrast in the album. Ravana Thandavam was percussive and fierce; Mangal Rang is warm and devotional.
